A concert celebrating the return of the Pre-Raphaelite Collection to the Delaware Art Museum,
featuring works inspired by the visual images, ideals and principles of the Pre-Raphaelite movement: music by Edward Elgar,
Frederick Delius, Claude Debussy and others.

Re-imagining the Creative Process”

 
Choral Composers find inspiration many places: in art, literature, religion, and the cultural and social currents of their time. This concert features works by composers who forged new and sometimes idiosyncratic paths, and reflects on the diverse influences that shaped their creative impulse.
A cappella choral music from Machaut and Monteverdi to Debussy, Poulenc and Tavener, and much in between!

The piano has been a faithful partner of singers ever since its invention! Brilliant and tuneful works for chorus and piano, featuring Johannes Brahms' romantic Zigeunerlieder (Gypsy Songs), Randall Thompson's Frostiana, and American folk song settings by Aaron Copland.
